Hours at these spots often run into the evening, later than a typical coffee shop, and many stay open on weekends when demand is highest in Chicago. Seasonal and limited-time drink or dessert flavors are common, so a shop's current menu can differ from what is posted online; checking recent photos or calling ahead helps. Some locations in Illinois are dessert-only with no seating, meant for takeout, while others have cafe-style seating for staying a while. Straws for bubble tea are typically wide to accommodate the toppings, and are provided automatically unless you ask for a regular one. Hey Tea was extremely busy when I visited, so the wait was longer than expected. However, the drinks were really good and worth trying. I especially enjoyed the matcha and mango flavors—they were fresh and delicious. Hopefully, the service will be faster next time.

Visited chicago for 3 days and got it every night! It was our first time at HeyTea and we loved it. Drinks weren’t that sweet and the tea taste is really good. We kept seeing the same young asian guy and his service was pretty good. Drinks came out at a good pace. Wish they had menus further out. Overall, really great and wish we had one back home in Atlanta!

I went there on July 14th, the employees there were super nice and helpful, especially Lily who served me. Lily answered all my questions about how to use the app and told me about the upcoming new items in the future! Because of her help, I would come back sooner. Great service! Wonderful environment and taste! Definitely a must go! Don’t miss this one!

HeyTea slapped so hard. I’ve gone to the Maryland location before, and I had been yearning for the Coconut Mango Bloom ever since, so I’m genuinely so happy we finally have a location in Chicago. HEYTEA is probably my favorite boba place right now. Thankfully it was within walking distance because parking in Chinatown on a Sunday is BRUTAL. The line was snaking out the door, and I ended up waiting around 15–20 minutes. One of the employees was outside helping organize the line so people wouldn’t block the entrance, which I appreciated. They also weren’t set up on the app yet, so mobile ordering wasn’t available. My sister went back another day and there was no wait, but they ran out of Matcha. They said that they would be in stock within a week, raHhh. The Coconut Mango Bloom itself was absolutely delectable. Super refreshing, not overly sweet, with a strong mango flavor. The texture combination of the sago and pudding is immaculate. I genuinely guzzled it in like 8 minutes. Soooo good.

One of China’s elevated tea chains has expanded to Chicago! HeyTea’s picturesque drinks have garnered quite the following, and I joined the masses on opening day. The total time from getting in line to receiving the drinks was just over three hours starting from 3:15 to around 6:30. The wait probably won’t be as bad these days, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see a substantial line at any time. The staff were all very patient and friendly, keeping the ordering process smooth. The interior is actually fairly large with a good bit of seating. The minimal design is elegant and a good background for the vibrant colors of their signature drinks. My favorite drink was probably the cloud crisp grape. The fruit tea wasn’t too sweet at all, and it was such a refreshing treat after waiting hours in the sun. The fresh grape chunks at the bottom were still really crunchy and succulent. The cheese foam was nice and salty, too. So creamy and rich along with the clean jasmine tea flavor. The coconut mango blue is visually spectacular. The mangos really shine since there are actual, freshly sliced chunks, and they go really well with the coconut milk. The drink is really smooth and creamy, and the
